🔮 The Bagua Map Guide

Map the nine life areas onto your home and unlock each zone's potential

What Is the Bagua?

The Bagua (八卦, literally "eight trigrams") is an energy map divided into nine areas — eight outer zones and the center. Each zone corresponds to a specific life area, element, color, and direction.

When you overlay the Bagua on your home's floor plan (with the front door aligned to the bottom), you can identify which life areas correspond to each room or area. This allows you to make targeted Feng Shui adjustments.

How to Overlay the Bagua on Your Floor Plan

1

Draw Your Floor Plan

Create a simple sketch or use an existing floor plan. Include all rooms and the front door location.

2

Align the Front Door

Position your floor plan so the front door is at the bottom (South-facing Bagua) or align it with whichever direction the door actually faces.

3

Divide Into Nine Equal Sections

Draw two equally-spaced horizontal and two vertical lines across your floor plan, creating a 3×3 grid of nine equal rectangles.

4

Identify Each Life Area

Match each grid section to the corresponding Bagua area. Career is always at the front (bottom), Fame at the back (top).

5

Apply Enhancements

For each area, add the appropriate elements, colors, and objects to strengthen that life aspect. Start with the area you most want to improve.

⚠️ Common Bagua Mistakes

🚫 Ignoring the Front Door

The Bagua must be aligned with your actual front/main entrance, not a side door or the direction you personally prefer.

🚫 Over-Enhancing One Area

Don't obsess over one life area while neglecting others. The Bagua works best when the whole space is balanced.

🚫 Using Wrong Colors

Each area has specific color associations. Using the wrong element's colors can create conflict instead of harmony.

🚫 Forgetting the Center

The center represents overall health and is often overlooked. Keep it open, bright, and free of clutter.

🚫 Buying Too Many Cures

Feng Shui is not about buying objects. Simple adjustments — cleaning, rearranging, adding plants — are often more powerful.

🚫 Ignoring Your Intuition

If a "cure" feels wrong or ugly to you, it won't work. Feng Shui should feel good — trust your instincts alongside the rules.
