Yuan Yun (Period Luck) · Mountain & Facing Stars · 81 Star Combinations
This tool is based on the Xuan Kong Flying Star system. It performs a comprehensive analysis of a building's Period Star, Mountain Star, and Facing Star combinations to evaluate the energy state of each sector.
Xuan Kong Flying Star is the most mathematically sophisticated branch of Feng Shui, originating from the Luo Shu legend — a divine turtle emerged from the Luo River bearing a 3×3 number pattern on its shell, known as the Lo Shu Square. Nine stars fly through the grid in a fixed pattern, with positions changing each time period (Yuan Yun), thereby influencing the fortune of each building sector.
"Xuan Kong" (玄空) means "Mysterious Void," referring to the invisible forces that govern Qi movement through time and space. The Three Yuan Nine Yun system divides 180 years into Upper, Middle, and Lower Yuan (60 years each), further subdivided into nine periods of 20 years each. We are currently in Lower Yuan Period 9 (2024–2043), where the Nine Purple Right Assistant Star reigns, symbolizing the rise of fire industries, culture, technology, and beauty.
The core method is the "Three-Disk Flying Star" — Period Star (era energy), Mountain Star (backing and health), and Facing Star (orientation and wealth). The combination of these three stars in each sector determines its overall fortune. This method reached its theoretical peak during the Ming and Qing Dynasties and remains an essential tool for professional Feng Shui masters in commercial and residential analysis.
